Urgent Appeal to Return 85-Year-Old Kidnapped in Sydney
Police in Sydney are urgently appealing for the safe return of Chris Baghsarian, an 85-year-old man kidnapped from his home in North Ryde. The incident occurred just before 05:00 on Friday, sparking grave concerns among his family and law enforcement officials. Authorities suspect that Baghsarian was taken in a case of mistaken identity, as he and his family have no known criminal connections.
There are reports indicating signs of forced entry at Baghsarian’s residence, which adds to the urgency of the situation. Video footage broadcast by Nine on Sunday captures two men exiting a dark four-wheel drive vehicle and approaching his home. The grainy CCTV images reveal the men forcibly pushing Baghsarian towards the car before driving away.
Police Investigate Possible Mistaken Identity
Detectives are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping, emphasizing that the elderly man appears to have been the victim of a misunderstanding. “We believe that the perpetrators may have taken the wrong person,” a police spokesperson stated. The investigation continues as officers seek to identify the suspects involved in this alarming incident.
Police urge the group responsible for the kidnapping to recognize the mistake and return Baghsarian safely to his family. Given the vulnerability of the elderly, the emotional toll on his loved ones is significant, and they fear for his well-being. “We just want him home,” a family member expressed, highlighting the distress the family is experiencing.
As law enforcement works diligently to resolve this case, they are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to Baghsarian’s safe return. The police have set up a dedicated hotline and are encouraging anyone with potential leads to come forward.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of vulnerable individuals in the community. Police are reminding residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
As the search for Chris Baghsarian continues, his family holds onto hope for his safe return, while police intensify their efforts to bring this distressing situation to a close.
