Rotary Club Thanks Sponsors for Successful Golf Fundraiser
The Rotary Club of Pakuranga expressed gratitude to its sponsors during a recent appreciation event, following a successful fundraising golf tournament held earlier this year. The event raised a remarkable $15,000 for Hato Hone St John Ambulance, showcasing the community’s commitment to supporting local health services.
The thank-you function took place at the Howick Club last month, with notable attendance from Kirsten Hawke, the Rotary district governor. She presented certificates of appreciation to the sponsors, acknowledging their contributions to the annual golf tournament, which was hosted in May at the Whitford Park Golf Club.
Dennis Kavanagh, a member of the Pakuranga Rotary, highlighted the importance of community support during the event. “It was a great opportunity to recognize the sponsors who played a key role in making the tournament a success,” Kavanagh stated. The sponsors included the platinum sponsor, Harcourts Landed Group, and several hole sponsors such as Rollformers, Mortgage Express, Churton Hart and Divers (now Shortall Lawyers), Reofab, Real Living Pakuranga Park, Coombes Johnson BMW Hamilton, the Auckland Chinese Community, Bruce McLaren Village, and Pakn’Save Botany.
In addition to these sponsors, numerous local businesses provided cash donations or items for auction, further enhancing the fundraising effort. Kavanagh noted, “The support from local companies was invaluable. Their contributions helped us raise significant funds for a worthy cause.”
Looking ahead, the Harcourts Landed Group has committed to being the platinum sponsor for next year’s golf tournament, scheduled for April 2026. Kavanagh mentioned that the event is open to all affiliated golfers, and entries will be invited in the near future, fostering an even broader community engagement.
The Rotary Club of Pakuranga continues to demonstrate its dedication to local initiatives through events like this golf tournament, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and support among businesses and community members.
