Anil Kapoor Declines Cameo in Dhurandhar 2 Due to Prior Commitment

Anil Kapoor has confirmed that he will not appear in a cameo role in the upcoming film Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar. The veteran actor explained his decision was due to a prior commitment that conflicts with the filming schedule. This information was reported by Times of India and later elaborated upon in an interview with India Today.

Kapoor expressed the significance of professionalism in the film industry, stating, “Yes, Aditya came to me for Dhurandhar 2. He wanted me to do a small cameo in the film. But the reason I am what I am today is because of my professionalism and my commitment. That’s very important—only talent cannot make you what you are.”

He acknowledged the appeal of the role but highlighted his dedication to honoring previous commitments. “At that time, I had already committed those dates to another filmmaker. I told Aditya, ‘I would have loved to do this cameo, but I’m already committed.’ He is releasing the film now, and it’s a fantastic film. It’s my loss, but it’s okay,” Kapoor noted.

Maintaining professional ethics is a principle that Kapoor holds dear, and he articulated the importance of upholding this standard within the film industry. “At least I know in the back of my mind that it can happen to him as well—there could be another filmmaker who has just delivered a big blockbuster and offers me something when I’m already committed to Aditya. If I then go and do that film and cancel his dates, that would be completely unprofessional,” he explained.

Despite turning down the cameo, Kapoor expressed hope for future collaboration with Dhar. He indicated a desire to explore new projects rather than revisiting previous roles, stating, “I think I will do something new. Kuch naya karunga (I will do something new).”

Scheduled for release on March 19, Dhurandhar 2 boasts a star-studded cast, including Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun. The film is generating considerable excitement among audiences, with Kapoor’s decision to step back from the project resonating as a testament to his commitment to integrity in his career.
