Te Tai Pari Trust Announces Nearly $400,000 for Community Projects
The Te Tai Pari Trust has unveiled a funding opportunity amounting to nearly $400,000 aimed at supporting community groups and projects in Waitara. During a meeting held on October 6, 2023, the trustees confirmed the release of $393,713 for its next funding round, which will remain open until June 30, 2026. This funding surpasses the total grants awarded in the current year, which reached $308,036.
The Te Tai Pari Trust, established under the New Plymouth District Council (Waitara Lands) Act, is dedicated to enhancing the health and wellbeing of the local river and its surrounding communities. The trust has indicated its long-term goal of increasing annual distributions to reach $1 million.
In 2025, the trust provided funding to a variety of local entities, including schools, community groups, the town’s food bank, and sports clubs. This reflects the trust’s commitment to fostering growth and development within the Waitara region.
Those interested in applying for this funding have until February 28, 2026, to submit their proposals. The application process is designed to ensure that a broad range of community projects can benefit from the financial support available, promoting a healthier and more vibrant community environment.
The Te Tai Pari Trust continues to play a crucial role in facilitating community development and enhancing the quality of life for residents of Waitara. As the trust progresses towards its funding goals, it remains focused on addressing the needs of the community and supporting initiatives that align with its mission.
