UP Education Acquires Auckland Institute of Studies to Expand Reach
UP Education has acquired the Auckland Institute of Studies (AIS), a prominent private tertiary education institution in New Zealand. This acquisition represents a strategic move aimed at enhancing access to quality education and solidifying UP Education’s leadership position in Australasia’s independent education sector.
Founded over 35 years ago, AIS has developed a reputation for academic excellence and student support. The institution offers a diverse array of higher-education programmes, including Business, Information Technology, Tourism, and English Language. Under the new ownership, AIS will maintain its established brand and commitment to quality while leveraging UP Education’s resources, technology, and shared services.
Mark Rushworth, Group Chief Executive Officer of UP Education, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition. “We’re thrilled to welcome AIS into the UP Education Group. AIS has an outstanding legacy of academic quality and international engagement that perfectly complements our existing portfolio,” he stated.
This acquisition not only enhances UP Education’s ability to provide transformative educational experiences but also opens new pathways for students to study and develop their skills across New Zealand and Australia. Rushworth took the opportunity to commend the leaders and community of AIS for their contributions over the years, highlighting the institution’s focus on academic integrity and global education.
The collaboration between UP Education and AIS aims to advance a shared mission of delivering exceptional learning outcomes and bolstering international education pathways. Together, they aspire to strengthen New Zealand’s position as a leader in global education.
With the addition of AIS, UP Education is poised to broaden its educational offerings and further its commitment to providing world-class learning experiences. This strategic acquisition is expected to benefit students and strengthen educational ties within the region, enhancing the overall educational landscape in Australasia.
