Acting Waikato District Commander Will Loughrin reported that police activated their red and blue lights in an attempt to stop the speeding vehicle. “Police have turned around, activating red and blue lights, intending to stop the speeding vehicle,” Loughrin stated. This action was taken just moments before the BMW collided with a second vehicle.
