Qatari Horses Dominate at Saint-Cloud: Al Attiyah Celebrates Wins
Qatari Arabian horses showcased their dominance at the Saint-Cloud racetrack, with notable victories celebrated by Hamad bin Abdulrahman Al Attiyah, Chairman of the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC). This success highlights Qatar’s stronghold in the world of Purebred Arabian racing, a status that Al Attiyah attributes to the unwavering support from the nation’s authorities.
Celebrating Success at Saint-Cloud
During the event, held on October 1, 2023, Al Attiyah expressed his gratitude to H.E. Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, the President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, for his presence at the races. He noted that Sheikh Joaan’s attendance significantly enhanced the excitement surrounding the wins, especially as he personally presented the trophies. This event coincided with the prestigious Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe weekend, one of the most acclaimed in the international racing calendar.
Al Attiyah remarked, “Qatar’s outstanding success in Purebred Arabian racing is no accident. It reflects the attention and support given by the country’s authorities to this discipline, which has been key to our achievements.” He emphasized Qatar’s historical significance in the racing domain, asserting that the triumphs of Al Wasmiyah Racing’s Laffan and Al Shaqab Racing’s Subahiyah serve as a testament to the supremacy of Qatari Arabian horses.
Looking Ahead to Future Races
Al Attiyah expressed optimism about maintaining this momentum during the upcoming races at ParisLongchamp over the following days. He conveyed his hopes for continued success for Qatari owners, particularly in competitions for major international titles, including the Qatar Arabian World Cup. “These victories will benefit Qatari racing and enhance its global standing,” he added.
With global attention on the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, Al Attiyah believes that the quality of horses competing in this prestigious event reinforces Qatar’s leadership in the realm of Purebred Arabian racing. The anticipation surrounding these races signifies Qatar’s commitment to not only uphold its reputation but also to expand its influence in the global racing community.
