FIA World Endurance Championship Kicks Off in Doha This March
The FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) will commence its 2026 season at the Lusail International Circuit in Doha with the much-anticipated “Qatar 1812 KM” event. Scheduled for March 26 to 28, 2026, this season opener celebrates Qatar’s National Day and promises an exhilarating weekend of motorsport.
Tickets for this exciting event are now available, allowing fans to experience high-stakes racing across two main categories: Hypercar and LMGT3. The competition will unfold over a duration of up to ten hours, showcasing simultaneous races that elevate the thrill of endurance racing.
Event Details and Ticket Information
Fans can purchase a QR50 ticket, which grants access to all three days of the event. This ticket includes entry to two prime viewing areas: the Main Grandstand and Lusail Hill, as well as the lively Fan Zone. The Main Grandstand provides an excellent view of the start/finish line and pit lane, while Lusail Hill, located at Turn 1, offers a unique perspective on one of the most dynamic sections of the track.
Children under the age of 12 can attend free of charge, with a maximum of six child tickets allowed per order. Additionally, children aged two years and younger will not require a ticket for entry. In a commitment to inclusivity, wheelchair users and their companions can access the event with one full-price ticket plus a complimentary ticket by contacting [email protected].
Ticket holders for the Qatar 1812 KM will also enjoy a special perk: a 25% discount on tickets for the 2026 MotoGP Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar. This offers motorsport enthusiasts a chance to experience both premier racing events in Qatar. All tickets will be issued as mobile tickets via the Lusail Tickets app, and they are valid as single-day tickets.
The WEC’s Growing Prestige
As it approaches its 14th season, the WEC remains the world’s leading international endurance championship. The 2026 series will consist of eight rounds, beginning with Qatar hosting the Prologue group test, followed by races in Italy, Belgium, France, Brazil, the USA, Japan, and Bahrain. This expansive schedule strengthens its status as one of the most esteemed championships in global motorsport.
The WEC has attracted a greater number of major automotive manufacturers than any other motorsport series, featuring illustrious brands such as Ferrari, Ford, McLaren, and Mercedes. Additionally, Genesis is set to debut its new GMR-001 in the highly competitive Hypercar grid in 2026, further enhancing the championship’s allure.
