Shell Unveils Digital Innovations at Web Summit Qatar 2026
Doha, Qatar: At the Web Summit Qatar 2026, Shell showcased its latest digital technologies, demonstrating how these innovations are enhancing energy operations. Thousands of technology leaders, innovators, and investors converged in Doha for the four-day event, which served as a vital platform for discussing the intersection of digital transformation and sustainable energy.
Showcasing Advanced Technologies
During the summit, Shell highlighted practical applications of artificial intelligence, data analytics, and cybersecurity within its energy operations. These demonstrations attracted significant interest from attendees, illustrating the company’s commitment to leveraging technology for improved efficiency and safety. Among the innovations presented was Shell’s advanced immersion cooling fluid, developed using the company’s proprietary Gas-to-Liquid (GTL) technology. This synthetic dielectric fluid enables direct submersion of IT components, enhancing heat transfer efficiency while simultaneously lowering energy consumption and carbon emissions.
Shell’s participation at the summit aligns with its recent recognition by the World Economic Forum as a Lighthouse site for digital transformation. This designation acknowledges the effective implementation of advanced digital solutions at scale. The event underscored how technologies like data analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence are integrated into operations, fostering notable improvements in performance, resilience, and efficiency.
Fostering Collaboration and Innovation
The Shell exhibition became a hub for engaging discussions, where participants explored collaborative opportunities and the advancement of digital solutions. Partner organizations actively contributed to these dialogues, emphasizing the importance of cross-sector partnerships in driving innovation and achieving a sustainable energy future.
Rob Maxwell, Executive Vice President and Country Chair for Shell Qatar, described the event as an “exceptional opportunity” to share insights on technology-enabled energy solutions. He noted that the relationships formed during the summit would be instrumental in accelerating progress within the industry.
The Web Summit Qatar 2026 highlighted the increasing convergence of technology and energy, with Shell positioning itself as a leader in this transformative phase. The company’s focus on innovation and sustainability at the summit reflects its ongoing commitment to shaping a more efficient energy landscape.
