Sean Combs Seeks Early Release After 13 Months in Detention

Sean “Diddy” Combs is seeking an early release from prison after serving 13 months at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Centre. The 55-year-old music mogul was convicted on two counts related to transportation to engage in prostitution. His attorneys have filed a request for a more lenient sentence ahead of his scheduled hearing on October 3, 2025.
Documents obtained by TMZ indicate that the sentencing guidelines for Combs’ conviction suggest a prison term of no more than six to twelve months for each count. His legal team argues that this duration would more accurately reflect the seriousness of the offenses committed.
Combs was arrested in September 2024 on multiple charges, and since then, he has maintained that he has transformed his life. He claims to have achieved sobriety for the first time in 25 years and has taken steps to inspire fellow inmates through personal programs. In his request for a reduced sentence, Combs highlighted that he has an “incident-free record” during his time in detention and has no prior criminal history.
In addition to his personal transformation, Combs expressed concern over the impact of his conviction on his reputation and family. He noted that the situation has caused significant damage to his business ventures and has affected his ability to support his seven children and elderly mother, who rely on him for care.
The Bad Boy Records founder’s legal team is advocating for a reconsideration of his sentence, emphasizing both his time served and his positive behavior while incarcerated. As his hearing date approaches, the outcome remains uncertain, but Combs is hopeful for an early return to his family and career.
