Sean Combs Seeks Early Release from Prison After 13 Months

Sean “Diddy” Combs is petitioning for an early release from prison, where he has been incarcerated for 13 months. The 55-year-old music mogul is currently serving time in the United States following his conviction on two counts related to transportation for the purpose of engaging in prostitution. His attorneys have filed a sentencing packet ahead of a hearing scheduled for October 3, 2025, requesting a more lenient punishment that reflects the circumstances of his case.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, the sentencing guidelines for Combs’ convictions suggest a maximum of six to 12 months in prison for each count. His legal team argues that this would align more closely with the seriousness of the offences while also taking into account the time he has already served. Combs has been at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre since his arrest on various charges in September 2024.
In the submitted documents, Combs highlighted the difficult conditions he has endured during his incarceration. He stated that he has achieved sobriety for the first time in 25 years and has worked to inspire other inmates through a personal program. Furthermore, Combs emphasized his “incident-free record” while in jail and noted that he has no prior criminal history.
Combs also argued that the impact of his arrest and subsequent conviction has been detrimental to his public image and business ventures. He expressed concern for his family, stating that his seven children and elderly mother depend on him for care and support. The founder of Bad Boy Records described the situation as significantly damaging, both personally and professionally.
As his sentencing date approaches, the music industry and his fans are watching closely to see how the situation will unfold. The outcome could have lasting implications not just for Combs himself but also for his business endeavors and family commitments moving forward.
