Radhika Apte Shares Memorable Call from Shah Rukh Khan
Actor Radhika Apte recently recounted a memorable incident involving renowned superstar Shah Rukh Khan. During a conversation with Mashable India, Apte revealed how she once mistook a call from Khan for a prank, leading to a surprising and delightful exchange.
The incident occurred after Khan reached out to Apte to commend her performance in the acclaimed 2018 film Andhadhun. Reflecting on the moment, she explained, “We were having food when I noticed a missed call. So I said there’s a missed call; let’s check. After that, a message came from the same number saying, ‘Radhika, this is Shah Rukh Khan. Please call me back.’” Initially believing it to be a joke, Apte confirmed the number with her agent. Once assured, she promptly returned the call.
In that conversation, Khan expressed his admiration, stating, “I just wanted to tell you that I saw Andhadhun. I really loved your performance, and I called only to say that.” Apte’s recounting of the call highlights the warm and encouraging nature of the Bollywood icon.
Fond Memories of Shah Rukh Khan
Apte also shared a fond memory of meeting Khan at a party, where his humility and warmth left a lasting impression on her. “He found me because I don’t like to go and say, ‘Please, I like you.’ So he came to me, put his arm around me, and chatted with me for half an hour. And he was so sweet. It was really nice,” she shared, showcasing the personable nature of the actor.
Currently, Apte is receiving accolades for her latest release, Saali Mohabbat, a drama-thriller that explores the life of an ordinary housewife whose routine is disrupted by betrayal and secrets following two unsettling deaths. The film features a talented cast, including Sauraseni Maitra, Divyendu Sharma, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Anurag Kashyap, and is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Dinesh Malhotra, Vipin Agnihotri, and Manish Malhotra.
As Apte continues to make her mark in the film industry, stories like her encounter with Shah Rukh Khan illustrate the supportive and encouraging spirit that exists among actors in Bollywood. Her experiences serve as a reminder of the human connections that can flourish within the competitive landscape of entertainment.
