Al Markhiya and Al Waab Achieve Key Victories in QSL Cup
In a thrilling display of football, both Al Markhiya and Al Waab secured important victories in the QSL Cup held in Doha, Qatar. Al Markhiya triumphed over Lusail with a final score of 2-1, while Al Waab defeated Al Bidda 2-0, continuing their unbeaten streak in the tournament.
Al Markhiya Edges Lusail with Gabriel’s Double
Al Markhiya’s Lucas Gabriel was the standout player, scoring both goals for his team at the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium. The match began as a balanced contest, but Al Markhiya took the lead in the 37th minute when Gabriel found the back of the net.
Lusail fought back early in the second half, equalising in the 55th minute through Amir Rustay. However, Al Markhiya’s persistence paid off when Gabriel scored his second goal in the 73rd minute, securing the win for his side. With this victory, Al Markhiya raised their points tally to 10, while Lusail remained at 4 points in the tournament standings.
Al Waab Maintains Unbeaten Streak Against Al Bidda
In a separate match at the Al Shamal Stadium, Al Waab continued their impressive form by defeating Al Bidda 2-0. Both of Al Waab’s goals came in the second half, with Bahaa Faisal scoring in the 55th minute and Ossenio Cesar adding another in the 67th minute.
Al Bidda’s chances were further hampered when Javier Martines received a second yellow card in the 65th minute, reducing his team to ten players. With this victory, Al Waab secured their third win of the tournament, bringing their points total to 12, while Al Bidda, following their second defeat, remained at 8 points.
As the QSL Cup progresses, both Al Markhiya and Al Waab are showcasing strong performances, positioning themselves as serious contenders in the tournament.
