Santiago Lambre Triumphs in Fourth Round of Longines Hathab Tour
The fourth round of the Longines Hathab – Qatar Equestrian Tour concluded on October 19, 2023, showcasing remarkable performances across multiple categories at the Qatar Equestrian Federation’s outdoor arena in Doha. Competitors engaged in the Diamond, Silver, and Future Riders rounds, delivering thrilling displays of skill and athleticism.
Santiago Lambre Claims Victory in Diamond Class
In a standout performance, Brazil’s Santiago Lambre clinched the top position in the Diamond class, completing the course aboard Db Gi Citsun in an impressive time of 35.71 seconds. His ride not only showcased his exceptional talent but also highlighted his ability to navigate a competitive field.
Mohammed Saeed Haidan secured second place, finishing the round in 40.61 seconds with his horse Quick Nick. Following closely behind, Khaled Mohammed Al Emadi took third place, finishing with a time of 42.4 seconds on Thor Ter Wilgen Z.
Intense Competition in Silver and Future Riders Rounds
The Silver Round featured equally fierce competition, with Hussain Saeed Haidan emerging victorious. He delivered a clean round on Fayahibi, finishing in 53.56 seconds. Khaled Al Hadi closely followed, taking second place with a time of 56.33 seconds on Cartelon. Rondoux Jean Francois secured third place, completing his ride on Lucky Wally in 56.34 seconds, just a fraction behind.
In the Future Riders Round, which was set at a height of 90 cm, emerging talents demonstrated their potential. Sultan Jassim Al Suwaidi took first place with a remarkable time of 16.26 seconds aboard Violet Van Het Koetshuis. He was closely followed by Khalifa bin Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, who recorded 16.32 seconds on Zion II Vdk. Al Qaqaa bin Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani finished third with a time of 18.03 seconds on Bon Suela.
Tournament Director Abdullah Al Marri commended the high level of competition throughout the four rounds of the Longines Hathab Championship. He noted that the technical skill and consistency displayed in both show jumping and dressage reflect the riders’ preparation for upcoming international competitions. Al Marri emphasized the positive trajectory for Qatari equestrian sport, highlighting the readiness of local riders to represent their country on regional and global stages.
