Simon Gault’s Health Scare Sparks Connection with Co-Host Kate Fenwick
New Zealand chef Simon Gault experienced an unexpected health scare recently when a routine household task took a dangerous turn. While attempting to remove a cricket from his home at the urging of his daughter Hazel, 12, Gault slipped and fell, resulting in a split eyebrow and a black eye. The incident unfolded as he was preparing for his podcast, Forkin’ Good, which he co-hosts with Kate Fenwick.
Gault spent three hours at an Accident and Emergency department to receive stitches for his injury. He chose to avoid a lengthy wait at Middlemore Hospital, deciding instead to manage the night with his daughter’s support. “I thought I’m not dragging my poor daughter to sit there for 12 hours – I’ll survive the night. And here I am!” he expressed with a smile, demonstrating his resilience despite the circumstances.
