Teams Compete at the 2025 Arabian Gulf Padel Championships in Doha
The 2025 Arabian Gulf Padel Championships commenced on September 18, 2025, at the Padel-In courts in Aspire Zone, Doha. This prestigious event sees teams from all Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries competing, with the tournament concluding on September 19.
Growing Popularity of Padel in the Region
The championship features three key categories: men’s, women’s, and juniors. This expansion reflects the sport’s increasing popularity across the region. Each category is structured in a league format, where teams face off in three matches. A team needs to win two out of three matches to secure overall victory.
Qatar’s men’s team, comprising eight skilled players, includes Mohammed Saadoun Al Kuwari, Khaled Saadoun Al Kuwari, Mohammed Al Khenji, Hassan Wali, Rashid Nawaf, Meshari Nawaf, Rayan Al Jafari, and Ali Al Saadi. Recently, the team underwent an intensive training camp in Spain, led by Argentine coach Pablo Sisti. The training focused on enhancing physical and technical readiness through competitive friendly matches.
The women’s team also consists of eight players: Hanan Al-Abdulrahman, Maha Farmarzi, Salma Wali, Rawda Al-Abdullah, Maryam Al-Sulaiti, Hessa Al-Mutawa, Atlal Al-Abdulrahman, and Dana Al-Mudhahka. Both teams are expected to showcase strong performances, contributing to the excitement surrounding the tournament.
