Waikato Prepares for Exciting Events in 2026 Calendar
The Waikato region is gearing up for an action-packed year in 2026, with an impressive lineup of events scheduled across various disciplines. March stands out as a particularly vibrant month, featuring a diverse array of activities including cricket, rugby, motorcycle racing, surfing, and triathlon competitions. Notable events such as Balloons over Waikato, Beach Hop, and the return of Homegrown promise to attract large crowds and provide entertainment for all.
Highlights of the Event Calendar
The excitement begins with the opening of the Waikato Regional Theatre and the Soundsplash Festival, both set to take place this month. These events will set the tone for a year filled with cultural and sporting milestones. February will see the NRL All Stars matches as well as performances by the band Blindspott and the Hamilton Arts Festival.
