Santiago Lambre Triumphs at Qatar’s Longines Hathab Round Four

The fourth round of the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour concluded on October 19, 2023, showcasing remarkable performances in the Diamond, Silver, and Future Riders classes at the Qatar Equestrian Federation’s outdoor arena in Doha. This event highlighted the talents of both seasoned riders and promising newcomers, reflecting the growing stature of equestrian sports in the region.
Santiago Lambre Secures Diamond Class Victory
In a standout performance, Brazil’s Santiago Lambre clinched victory in the Diamond class by completing the course in an impressive 35.71 seconds aboard his horse, Db Gi Citsun. His swift and accurate riding left a strong impression, enabling him to outperform a highly competitive field.
QEF Board Member Ali bin Youssef Al Rumaihi honoured the podium winners of the Silver Tour.
Following closely behind, Mohammed Saeed Haidan took second place with a time of 40.61 seconds on Quick Nick, while Khaled Mohammed Al Emadi secured third aboard Thor Ter Wilgen Z, finishing in 42.4 seconds.
Intense Competition in the Silver and Future Riders Classes
The Silver Round also delivered exciting moments, as Hussain Saeed Haidan emerged victorious with a clean round of 53.56 seconds on Fayahibi. He was closely followed by Khaled Al Hadi, who completed his round in 56.33 seconds aboard Cartelon, and Rondoux Jean Francois, who finished third on Lucky Wally with a time of 56.34 seconds, just a fraction behind.
In the Future Riders Round, aimed at showcasing young talent, Sultan Jassim Al Suwaidi took first place with a remarkable time of 16.26 seconds riding Violet Van Het Koetshuis. He was closely followed by Khalifa bin Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, who recorded 16.32 seconds on Zion II Vdk. Al Qaqaa bin Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani rounded out the top three with a time of 18.03 seconds on Bon Suela.
Tournament Director Abdullah Al Marri crowned the top finishers in the Future Riders class.
Abdullah Al Marri, the Tournament Director, commended the high level of competition exhibited during the first four rounds of the Longines Hathab Championship. He noted the technical skill and consistency demonstrated by the riders in both show jumping and dressage, highlighting their readiness for international competitions. Al Marri expressed optimism about the positive trajectory of Qatari equestrian sport, as local riders continue to prepare for representation on both regional and global stages.
This round of the Longines Hathab Tour not only showcased impressive individual performances but also underscored the ongoing development and rising standards of equestrian sport in Qatar.
