MENA Karting Championship 2025: Day Two Delivers Thrilling Races

Doha, Qatar: The second day of the MENA Karting Championship Nations Cup 2025, organized by the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF), showcased an exhilarating array of talent at the Lusail Karting Circuit. With 173 drivers competing from 18 nations, the event highlighted the growing karting scene in the Middle East and North Africa.

Fans enjoyed free access to six karting categories and a lively Fan Zone, which featured a variety of engaging activities between races. Day two kicked off with a series of qualifying sessions, followed by three Heats for each category, allowing drivers to refine their strategies on the track.

Highlights from the Qualifying Sessions

The qualifying sessions began with the Micro Max category, featuring drivers aged 8 to 11. Isaac El Haouti from Morocco claimed pole position with a time of 53.627 seconds. He was followed closely by Alex Moghabghab from Lebanon at 53.872 seconds, and Ayden Ouaich from Morocco in third place with 54.028 seconds.

In the Mini Max category, Atiqa Mir from the UAE secured first place with a time of 50.868 seconds. Nahyl El Gahoudi from Morocco and Tammem Mustafa from Saudi Arabia rounded out the top three with times of 51.222 seconds and 51.510 seconds, respectively.

Junior Max saw Roslan Sryer from Algeria take the lead with a qualifying time of 48.255 seconds, followed by UAE’s Faris Haroun and Nathan Kappen with times of 48.344 seconds and 48.363 seconds.

In the Senior Max category, Anis Tazi from Morocco led the pack with a time of 48.039 seconds. He was followed by Sanad Al Hamawi from Jordan and Laith Mouminah from Saudi Arabia.

The qualifying session for the DD2 and DD2 Masters categories was dominated by Edwin Khneisser from Lebanon, who clocked a time of 47.703 seconds. He was closely followed by Taha Hassiba from Qatar and Faesal Yafei also from Qatar.

Race Day Action

Following the qualifying rounds, the drivers participated in three Heats, which allowed them to adapt to the track conditions and optimize their approaches for the final races. In the Micro Max Heats, Isaac El Haouti consistently demonstrated his prowess, securing first place in both Heat 1 and Heat 2, with times of 8 minutes 1.385 seconds and 8 minutes 1.386 seconds, respectively. Heat 3 saw Alex Moghabghab take the lead with a time of 8 minutes 0.971 seconds.

For the Mini Max category, Atiqa Mir continued her winning streak, leading all three heats with times of 8 minutes 30.232 seconds, 8 minutes 28.798 seconds, and 8 minutes 29.752 seconds. Her consistent performance solidified her position as a standout competitor.

In the Junior Max races, Nathan Kappen showcased his skills, leading Heat 1 with a time of 8 minutes 58.183 seconds and securing a win in Heat 3 with 8 minutes 55.909 seconds. Roslan Sryer and Faris Haroun provided strong competition throughout the heats.

In the Senior Max category, Anis Tazi maintained his dominance by leading all three heats, culminating in a time of 8 minutes 58.550 seconds in Heat 1. Laith Mouminah and Sanad Al Hamawi frequently challenged him, making for an exciting series of races.

The endurance race for the R390 Elite category saw UAE Team 1 emerge victorious with a time of 2 hours 31.779 seconds. They were followed by Morocco Team 2 and Oman Team 2, showcasing the competitive spirit of the teams.
