Venum Fight 3 Set to Thrill Doha with WBC Title Bouts

Combat sports enthusiasts in Qatar will experience an exciting showcase as the Venum Fight 3 event takes place on March 16, 2024, at the Katara Amphitheater. This event, organized by the Qatar Boxing and Wrestling Federation (QBWF), will be a highlight of the 8th Katara Boxing Championship, featuring elite fighters from Muay Thai, professional boxing, and mixed martial arts (MMA).

High-Stakes Fights Await Fans

The Venum Fight 3 will feature four prestigious bouts for the coveted World Boxing Council (WBC) titles, alongside two MMA contests. The championship event will kick off with local boxing competitions over the first two days, culminating in the Venum fight night, which promises to deliver top-tier action.

Headlining the event is the WBC Cruiserweight Muay Thai World Title bout, where Russia’s Ali Aliev will face American Chip Moraza-Pollard in a highly anticipated match. The co-main events will showcase Iran’s Sajad Sattari against Thailand’s Kaonar for the WBC Welterweight Muay Thai Diamond Title. Additionally, two WBC Asia Boxing Title fights will take place, featuring Algeria’s Idriss Labidi versus Indonesia’s Rivo Rengkung and Filipino boxer Jadalie Medeiros competing against Iran’s Shirin Shabani.

During a press conference, Sheikh Fahad bin Khalid Al Thani, President of QBWF, expressed his enthusiasm for hosting WBC title bouts in Qatar. He stated, “Bringing these titles to Qatar is a dream come true. This represents the highest level in combat sports and assures that the bouts will be of the highest technical standard.”

Sheikh Fahad, a former professional boxer himself, highlighted the importance of the WBC titles, stating, “Having the most prestigious title in the boxing world in Doha is a great opportunity. It will bring many benefits to the sport and allow our athletes to engage with professionals through potential joint training sessions.” He added that this exposure can inspire local champions to strive for excellence.

He urged combat sports fans in Qatar not to miss this unique opportunity, inviting them to attend the event. “Please come on Saturday. It is going to be an amazing event. It starts at 16:00, and entrance is free for all,” Sheikh Fahad said.
