Al Shaqab League Launches Thrilling Second Season of Showjumping
Qatar’s leading equestrian competition, the Al Shaqab League, is set to return for its highly anticipated second season. Announced by Al Shaqab, a member of the Qatar Foundation, this premier showjumping league aims to nurture young equestrian talent, enhance the skills of local riders, and elevate Qatar’s profile in the international equestrian community.

The Al Shaqab League serves as a unique platform that merges sporting development with top-tier competition. It offers riders at all levels—including juniors, amateurs, and professionals—the chance to gain valuable experience in a supportive and inspiring environment. This initiative not only fosters individual growth but also contributes to the overall development of equestrian sports in Qatar.
Mohammed Jaber Al Khayareen, Director of the Equine Education Department, emphasized the importance of this league in empowering emerging riders. He stated, “The Al Shaqab League reflects our commitment to supporting emerging riders and empowering them to achieve their dreams in the world of equestrian sport. This championship serves as a true bridge between local development and global ambition, embodying Al Shaqab’s vision of building a new generation of champions.”
Season Schedule and Highlights
The second season of the Al Shaqab League will take place at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab across four main rounds. The schedule is as follows:
- Round 1 (powered by Dreama): November 14-15, 2025
- Round 2: December 26-27, 2025
- Round 3: April 17-18, 2026
- Final Round: May 21-23, 2026
This series of competitions is designed not only to challenge the riders but also to engage the community, promoting the sport of showjumping throughout Qatar. As the league progresses, it is expected to attract greater participation and audience interest, reinforcing its status as a cornerstone of equestrian excellence in the region.
