Generation Amazing Foundation Receives Excellence in Sports Award
The Generation Amazing Foundation, based in Qatar, was awarded the Excellence in Sports Award during the recently concluded second edition of the Regional Sustainable Development Forum (RSD) in Cairo, Egypt. This honor recognizes the foundation’s significant contributions to social transformation through sports, particularly in the context of sustainable development initiatives across the Middle East and North Africa.
The forum, held under the auspices of Egypt’s Ministries of Youth and Sports and Environment, was organized by Aspire Community Transformation, a division of Aspire Consulting International. It took place at Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development and served as a vital platform for showcasing transformative initiatives that promote sustainability in the region.
Recognition of Impactful Initiatives
This year’s forum placed a particular focus on the Generation Amazing Foundation’s pioneering work in utilizing sports for development. During a dedicated ceremony, various institutions and leaders were acknowledged for their impactful efforts, with Generation Amazing being specifically honored for its extensive work in promoting social change through sports.
The recognition highlights the enduring legacy of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and positions Generation Amazing as a model for scalable, community-centered development. In his remarks, Nasser Al Khori, Executive Director of Generation Amazing Foundation, expressed gratitude for the award. He stated, “We were deeply proud to receive this award, which reaffirmed the enduring legacy of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the power of sport to bring meaningful change to communities.”
Al Khori emphasized that this recognition strengthens their commitment to expanding programs and fostering partnerships, ensuring that young people in the region benefit from safe, inclusive, and transformative sport-for-development opportunities.
Sustainable Development Through Sports
The Excellence in Sports Award celebrates organizations that innovate and transform communities through effective approaches. Generation Amazing has positively impacted over 1 million beneficiaries across 75 countries since its inception, using sports as a means to develop essential life skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork, and compassion.
Through its sport-for-development methodology, the foundation promotes inclusion, gender equality, and environmental sustainability, aligning its mission with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Qatar’s National Vision 2030. The foundation’s initiatives continue to set benchmarks for legacy-driven social impact projects throughout the region.
As Generation Amazing Foundation expands its reach and influence, the award serves as a testament to the power of sports in fostering sustainable development and creating lasting change in communities across the globe.
