Qatar to Showcase Young Football Talent at AGCFF U-23 Gulf Cup 2025

Qatar is set to host the AGCFF U-23 Gulf Cup from December 4 to December 16, 2025, featuring young football talents from across the region. This tournament marks a significant milestone as it will be the first time the competition is held under the auspices of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF).

“The U-23 Gulf Cup reflects our strong commitment to nurturing young, emerging football talents in the region,” said Jassim Sultan Al Rumaihi, AGCFF Secretary General. He emphasized the importance of this age group as a pivotal stage for players transitioning to senior teams and encouraged fans to support these future stars.

Tournament Format and Venue Details

The tournament will feature eight teams, split into two groups. Host nation Qatar will lead Group A, competing against Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait. Group B will be headed by Iraq, which will face the UAE, Oman, and Yemen.

Throughout the group stage, a total of 14 matches will be played at two state-of-the-art pitches located in the Aspire Zone. This venue recently hosted a remarkable edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2025.

The group stage is designed as a non-ticketed event, encouraging fans from the region to attend and enjoy the matches without charge. The tournament kicks off on December 4 at 14:45 local time, with Iraq taking on Yemen. Qatar will play its first match the following day, facing Kuwait at the same time.

Final Match and Accessibility Features

The tournament’s final will be held on December 16 at the iconic Stadium 974, recognized as the first fully demountable covered football stadium in FIFA World Cup history. This venue was also used during the historic tournament in 2022. Tickets for the final will be available shortly.

Both venues will ensure accessibility for disabled fans, providing a barrier-free experience during the matches.

The AGCFF U-23 Gulf Cup Qatar 2025 is part of an exciting football season in the country, coinciding with the FIFA Arab Cup from December 1 to December 18 and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup scheduled for December 10, 13, and 17.
